Ban ki-moon would be honoured to serve United Nations for the second mandate

On 6 June 2011, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that it has been a privilege to lead this Organization, and he would be honoured to serve the United Nations Organization once more between 2012 and 2016.
Throughout my time in office, I have sought to be a bridge-builder – among the Member States, within the United Nations system and among a rich diversity of global partners. Finding common ground is central to delivering results”.
The Secretary-General affirmed that during these years the UN faced several problems, such as the climate change, the humanitarian emergencies in many parts of the world, and the needs of the world’s most vulnerable, especially after the economic crises.
In addition, the UN Organization realized many efforts in order to promote peace in Sudan, Somalia, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), andte d’Ivoire. Finally, the United Nations played a fundamental role to face the recent important event so-called “Arab Spring protest movement”.
